Bio

Sophia Porter is a film and digital photographer based in the Northern Virginia area. She was born in Guangzhou, China. When she was six years old, she was adopted from China and moved to Virginia. She graduated from George Mason University with a BA in Photography from the School of Art in 2023. She photographs scenes that the average person has experienced but does not fully consider as they rush through their daily lives. She is interested in capturing images that other people can relate to or moments she want others to experience. Some themes she presents in her artwork is the observation of everyday things and everyday life and the human condition.
